The duck in the duck soup was perfect and the skin was still crispy. Yellow curry was one of the better curry's that I've had in San Antonio. Not the biggest place but the service was great and very helpful too. I'll be back.

The staff is friendly and acceptably attentive. I started with the Fresh Roll. It was very well done. The presentation was very creative. The peanut sauce was an interesting take. It was more like a paste. It's was good. The lemongrass chickens was also presented very nicely. Unfortunately, the flavor was just not there. Their spicy 5/10 is less spicy than I expected. There are several spice oils and such at the table to ratchet it up to your liking. The atmosphere is fairly standard. It is clean and well maintained. All of this together does not justify the price. It was $21.09 for my meal. If you are in the area, give it a try. If you want the best and for a reasonable price, I have reviewed other, much better establishments. Presentation: 4/5 Taste: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Saturday-1630h

Normally they would get 5 stars but today at lunch, a ROACH crawled across my table from the sugar packet container. NEVER again!!!
(1)Christine M.
Great little Thai fusion place and they deliver too! I ordered the "hit and run" duck and it was A-mazing! I like that they ask you your spicy level 1-10. I've said 7, the two different times I've been, but I feel like it wasn't really that spicy at all. I might have to kick it up a notch to 8 or 9, or tell them that I'm serious about spice, not playing! My husband always gets one of the curries and they are always excellent. The dinner portions are huge too. You will definitely have enough for dinner that night and lunch the next day. Don't let me forget...the staff is great too, very friendly and helpful. I don't know a lot about Thai food, so they always help me decide and explain the menu to me!
(4)Elijah M.
All food has amazing flavor and texture the ability to choose the level of spice in your food is a welcomed bonus. When coming here choose anything that consist if duck for it is moist falls off the bone and isn't to gamey. Their soups also roll fabulously down the gullet and settle stupendously in the stomach. Never leave disappointed and always come hungry.
(4)Rachel M.
Roaches, mold and slime in the ice machine. Looks like I was right about my foul tasting pad Thai. Don't mess with this girls taste buds. They never fail me.
(1)Vinh H.
Poor me, came here without warm welcome as other guest, maybe because I was myself. No racist, but you will have great welcome and service if you're not Asian. Long dinner to me, I thought I had been forgotten and may leave without notice. If you want to have very salty food, try Chef's speciality. I tried Tom Yum, Grilled Chicken Peanut Sauce and Pad Thai, they were both very salty. I tasted no Thai food here. If you look for big plate with full of food, here is the place.
(2)Veronica Pagán B.
Everything was wonderful! We were greeted right away and the service was super friendly. I ordered the Green Curry and fell in love! It was hot, fresh and had a myriad of textures! I would highly recommend them, I'll be eating here again.
(5)Taylor R.
I had the red curry and brown rice as well as a cup of tom kha. It was all delicious, the soup especially stood out for me. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting and the staff is friendly and the service was prompt. The presentation of the plate was also very impressive. Very clean and well kept, will be back again and again.

first off, thanks to angela f. w. for taking me out and for the great time in san antonio! lemongrass was a great choice for dinner and perfect for sharing entrees. the entrees were well presented and decorated each with an orchid and not to mention HUGE! we started off with some hot and sour soup ($2.99 a cup) and it was one of the tastiest i've had! there was tons of ingredients in there from mushrooms, green onions, tofu, carrots, bamboo shoots, egg, cilantro, and spicy chili. it was flavorful than most hot and sour soups im used to, usually it's a couple pieces of bamboo shoots and just the thick flavorless broth itself. we also had the unbelievable pad thai ($15.99) which were amazing! the noodles were cooked perfectly and the flavors were all there. i like how it was topped off with big piece of green onions! the dish came with HUGE pieces of sautéed jumbo prawns mixed in with cashew nuts. this was good for 3 but angela forced me to finish all of it! the queen of duck ($16.99) was very moist and soft. we chose to have the thai basil sauce which had green onions, bamboo shoots, onions, green beans, bell peppers and thai basil. it was good to use the sauce to pair it up with your rice. we ordered this dish spicy but i didn't taste any spiciness at all! maybe it would have been better if there was an extra kick to it. this dish was just okay but next time i will try the crispy duck (hit and run) overall our dinner went well. service was great from patrick and i thank him for refilling my water more than four times! this thai restaurant was on the pricey side but it was well worth for the quality of food as well as the great service. definitely a great place to come with the family. don't forget to take advantage of their lunch specials!

I stopped by lemongrass Thai for dinner last weekend. My overall experience was positive with some dissatisfactions. The ambience is great at this establishment. They also serve sushi and have a bar area. As a result, the price point is higher than the average Thai place. I ordered the drunken noodle with chicken and a hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup is extraordinary! Unlike the typical hot and sour soup, this one has a variety of ingredients including veggies, mushrooms, and tofu. It was very rich in flavor. And the portion was just right. Highly recommend! Shortly after, I got my drunken noodle with chicken. It was good but I have to say it is a little too oily and greasy. I've certainly had better drunken noodles else where in the past. The portion is huge so I only finished half and took the left over home. My server was very attentive and bubbly. I was very satisfied with her service. Because of the hot and sour soup and the good customer service, I gave lemongrass Thai a four star. **update: had their unbelievable pad Thai, it was indeed unbelievable!**
(4)Sara H.
Come here almost once a week for lunch. Great lunch special that comes with a delicious fresh salad. I love the chicken pad thai- it's flavorful and never dry or overcooked. Always look forward to eating here!
(5)Daniel S.
I am confident to say that Lemongrass is by far the BEST Thai restaurant in San Antonio. I work near here and have been coming to eat for lunch or dinner at least 2 times a week for 2 months. + Portion size is plenty 8/10 + All dishes are delicious. I've tried beef in garlic sauce, pepper steak, seafood with rice, drunken noodles, pad thai, green curry, and more. I enjoyed EVERY dish. + Service is flawless + Price is reasonable - $8 lunch special + TV to keep customers entertained - 20min. wait for food at times - Side salad is literally 10 pieces of lettuce and some other vegetables glazed with peanut dressing - Can be chilly at times
(5)Edwin H.
Been here now twice for lunch and absolutely love their food! Very flavorful and affordable. Their red curry is my current favorite but you can't go wrong with anything on their menu I feel.
(4)Brittny K.
We frequent this place at least once a week. It's fresh, clean, and damn delicious. Generous dinner portions, always have half left over. Can't recommend them enough. You leave feeling satisfied, not weighed down and greasy. Friendly staff, too. Worth every bit of the price (kind of high IMO but you'll soon see why).
(5)Seb R.
I've been going here for three years. The food and service have remained consistently the best!! Pineapple fried rice and pad thai. .#7
(5)Jeff C.
I've been going to Lemon Grass, usually weekly, since it opened. I've had most of the dishes on the lunch menu and some from the dinner menu. I'm usually not disappointed - there was this one time but then I blame myself for getting salad at a Thai restaurant. There was a brief span of a few months during 2014 where the quality of the food was not consistent. I'm happy to report that things are great one again and I anticipate they'll stay that way. Unfortunately the past couple of months they've been short staffed in the dining room so the service can be a little slow if you're there for lunch on a weekday. This is a known issue and they are looking to hire. This should remedy itself once they on board a new server.
(5)Jereme A.
Great food. Place is a little tight, but it works. Girlfriend and I went during lunch and got two apps and split a lunch meal. Plenty of food. We had the steamed gyoza, spring rolls and the chicken garlic sauce. Amazing. Only $25 for all that and we didn't even finish it. I'm actually craving more writing this review
(4)Eric J.
Met my wife here for lunch. The service was terrible. No silverware given, no napkin and when I asked for one they never returned. The food took almost 30 minutes. My wife ordered the beef noodle soup and all the noodles were in a ball. I ordered the shrimp yum tum soup. My wife is ok but I have been in the bathroom several time after the meal. Something bad in the soup. Green tea was Lipton bags. I was expecting loose leaf with some Flavor. I am back in the bathroom again! Beware of this place and don't order the shrimp hotpot!
(1)Marianne H.
Excellent Thai food. I am half thai and very picky....this is by far the best Thai restaurant in San Antonio!! Try the drunken noodle but whatever you order, careful on the spice level, I can handle spice, but 5 was a bit over my limit and the choice level is between 1 - 10. Prices are above average but it's worth it to me. They were a little slow on service because there were only two waiters with a packed restaurant but that didn't bother anyone, it seemed everyone left full and satisfied. Great atmosphere too!
(5)Kristina M.
This family restaurant serves a good variety of noodle dishes and soups, as well as some fantastic duck. Vegetables are not overcooked and presentation is much better than most local Thai places. Service is generally good and the atmosphere is more modern than most of our run-down Thai spots. For some reason, they have a sushi bar; I'm not quite sure why so many Asian restaurants think that they need to have sushi to draw people in. Randomly, they have "classic sports" on the t.v. so don't expose your ignorance about the retro uniforms! Food has always been consistent and this is our go-to place for Thai on the north side.
(4)Anthony M.
I'm happy to find a decent Thai place around the area. Thai Pikul is my goto, but this is more local and satisfactory. They mean business on their spiciness scale and I love spicy food and have been to Thailand. I got the Tiger Tear with a side of rice and homegirl got the Pad See Ewe. Both were solid and delicious. I will go back.
(4)Jill C.
Food wasn't bad, but I know better is to be found, service was pleasant, prices were good and portions were equally good. And then I went to the bathroom and saw two live baby cockroaches in the sink. On the other side of the wall was the kitchen. If I'm seeing roaches in a fully lit room, there I are serious issues concerning general cleanliness. We will never return.
(1)Dianira A.
Great little gem of a place. Food is good, but the 2 times I've been there, service was slow. In their defense, they were full during lunch. My fav is the lemongrass chicken dish.
(4)Brandon F.
Best yellow curry I've ever had, and that's saying a lot, I've tried it at a few dozen restaurants in my lifetime. Thai tea was good. Dumpling appetizer was tasty, too. Service, atmosphere, and cleanliness were all great too.
(5)Joshua L.
Had my reservations since this was a Thai place in San Antonio, in a mini-mall, next to a Big Lots, but I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor of both the Basil and drunken noodles here - both were excellent. One small note - when you ask for 10/10 spiciness , and the waitress asks are you sure, the correct answer is: "No, I was just kidding." Seriously.
(4)Lorr V.
My husband and I have been here twice for dinner and both times they have had great service. Food has been really delicious!
(4)Kel D.
After a string of really rather "meh" restaurants, I was leery about going out...would I be stuck in a rut of mehness? Fortunately, Lemongrass helped me escape the rut with delicious Thai food (and really, what better way is there to escape such a rut?). My date and I ordered a noodle dish (Thai MaMa, sort of a pad thai-ish kind of dish with more veggies) and the wild curry (a red curry not based with coconut milk). I was very pleased with both dish - the curry had decent heat and was spicy without being overwhelmingly fiery. The noodle dish was similarly heated and had a tasty and sweet brown sauce that made for tasty leftovers the next day (always nice). Service wasn't really great, but nor was it so bad that I felt compelled to really whinge on about it or take off any stars for it.
(4)Sarah F.
I dragged a friend with me to check out Lemongrass because it had gotten good reviews on Yelp, and I'm a sucker for a good Thai restaurant. Yelpers, you led me astray. For me, Thai food needs to have an element of heat, especially the curries. I didn't get that at all. Not that the tastes were bad, but if you are looking for more authentic Thai don't go here. We also got the lemongrass chicken which was just so so. I was hoping for more from a place with such good reviews. My one pet peeve when it comes to ethnic cuisine is that they Americanize it too much and take all of the key flavors out to make it more appealing to the masses. This goes for everything from Mexican (and their red-headed stepchild Tex-Mex) to Indian. This place falls into that category so I most likely won't be back but only time will tell.
(2)Ken H.
I'm very picky about Asian food since I've been fortunate enough to eat the real thing during my travels around the globe. The recipes that Lemongrass use are fantastic. The ingredients that make up their dishes (veggies, etc) are extremely high quality and very fresh. Anyone who cooks knows how important this is to your final result. The staff at Lemongrass is attentive but laid back. The atmosphere is pleasant -- no loud TV or Asian disco music blaring in the background. Very convenient location and large enough to host decent sized families, groups of friends or co-workers. I really can't think of anything to criticize about the place. Leave happy every time I've eaten there. Highly recommended,
(5)E Yelp C.
Solid Thai food. Great for San Antonio for sure. Pad Thai is good -- moist and sweet. Red Curry is slightly hot, rich in flavor, hearty portions and full of veggies. Pineapple fried rice is well balanced and tasty as well. New Boba drinks are average, but good enough. Definitely worth visiting for a taste of Thai!
(4)Rita M.
I had the royal curry. Sooo good! Avocado and curry? Yes, please! We also had the sticky rice with mango! It was delish when paired with the raspberry sauce.
(5)Christine N.
OMG! This place is awesome. I went here for my birthday and they are amazing. The portion size is big, you can probably share a plate with another person, I had to take more than half of my food with me. If you like Thai food you will not be disappointed in them.
(4)G D.
Best Thai food! Food is consistently delicious n the service is great! Prices r good too.My favorite is the pad see ew! Their soups r also great! Don't miss the delicious bubble teas!
(5)Travis G.
Came here with some friends after they told me how great it is. I had the egg drop soup and padthai, and I have to agree with my friends. The food was excellent. Based on the quality of food, I was surprised there were not many people there during lunch. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The prices are fairly low for the quality. You really can't lose with this place.
(4)Steven R.
I had a really good bowl of Tom Yum Goong here today. Perhaps the best I have had in San Antonio. I also had the Som Tum. Very delicious. It was a bit different than most, but very good. Very fresh green beans and it came with a few boiled shrimp and a few pieces of Krab.... I also had the Thai Calamari. It was deep fried Tempura style, with a rice coating and came with half squid/half veggies. The tempura was a bit sweet. Almost donut-like. Not what I was wanting with squid. But they have Singha, and I asked for extra spicy food and got it. A perfect combination. I will be back to sample more.
(4)azul b.
I love their food and service! Decent wines and beers. Great restaurant .
(4)Kim C.
I really enjoy this restaurant. The location is conveniently located off 281 and Thousand Oaks. The pad thai and green curry are great. So great that my family decided to cater with those two dishes. When it came down to the large to-go order, Lemongrass was excellent in accommodating us with only 2 hours notice. They even added extra orders, extra sauces, and a free container of egg rolls. I love the quality of service and food! They have lunch specials in the $7 range and dinner options range between $11-15. I will be returning!
(4)John H.
Great job overall. Had the Green Curry (#4 spicy) - great flavor. Egg rolls were a little cold in center (why not a 5 rating). We will back though for certain. Service was good as well, very attentive to our needs (tea refills, extra napkins, etc.). Great Wall of Chocolate dessert was awesome.
(4)Frank N.
Yep! That's right! I said five stars!! I've been to Thailand several times and I'm often disappointed by Thai restaurants operated by non-Thai people.... Lemongrass is a bright spot among them, with delicious authentic food and great service!! The first time I went, I had Drunken Chicken Noodles! Yeah!! Extra spice! She had a the Num Prik Pao, and that rocked too! Holy Cow, this stuff is authentic. The second time I went was on a Monday. They are closed on Mondays. The third time I went, I just had to have those Drunken Chicken Noodles again, and they seemed even better! I was also craving Thai Beef Salad, so we ordered the TIger Tear. oh... It was just so good, I wanna come here everyday! The Tom Yum soup was a little sweeter than I'm used to, maybe a little less than authentic.... Don't give in to your favorite Mexican restaurant tonight; come here!!!
(5)Devin G.
Ate here again last night and it was as good as ever. I had the crispy duck with ginger sauce heat level 3. It was perfect. Their duck is simply the best. It is roasted then flash fried. The skin on the legs is as crispy as bacon. Did I meantion the serving size? This is a WHOLE duck! My partner had the mae mae noodle dish and it was great as well. They have improved their wine list. I had a glass of Cheateu St. Michelle Reisling. Several nice wines available at $5 per glass! The waitress (fantastic wait staff here BTW) told us that they will be adding a sushi bar by the end of the month with a Japanese sushi chef. Can't wait..
(5)Andrea K.
My boyfriend and I love this place for great takeout. We have grabbed dinner from here probably a half dozen times. Every experience has been great. Great food. Very fast preparation. I highly recommend this place.
(5)John T.
I ordered the "Seafood Tornado" which did not contain much seafood. Price was ok, but not impressed with the quality of the flavor. I may go back and try the Pad Thai, but will a bit more observant. The Ice Tea was real cloudy as if it were instant tea. Service was great, atmosphere was clean and modern. Tables were clean. Silver was spotless..
(2)Hugo E.
Tried Lemongrass for the first time today at lunch. I do not know what authentic Thai food tastes like, but this Thai food is pretty darn good. Definitely the best I've had. I had the Pad Woon-Sen with chicken at a heat level of 7 which was tolerable for my taste buds. Don't know that I would go higher than that. The dish was so good that I could not put down the chop sticks even though I was ready to explode. Needless to say, I also had a few bites off my wife's plate. She had the Pad Thai with chicken. Their Pad Thai was pretty good. We also ordered the egg rolls which seemed more like spring rolls to me, but they were good - hot and freshly made.
(5)Bobby A.
Thank God the crappy Martha's Mexican Restaurant closed at this location making way for this tasty Thai treat. I am a fan of Mon Thai Bistro and Spice Asian Bistro. They have some of the best Pad Thai and Pad Woon Sen in the city but I wanted something closer to home and work. Lemongrass does not disappoint. Great flavor, I can't say whether it is better then Mon, but just as good in a different way. Presentation at Lemongrass does blow the others away. Service was fast and friendly both for lunch and dinner. Try the pad-woon-sen or the Lemongrass fried rice.
(4)Rox G.
Based on the reviews we drove from New Braunfels to try Lemongrass. It was just okay. I was not impressed at all. The Chicken Rice Soup was bland, the salad with peanut dressing too sweet and the color was not appealing, the green wilted and warmish, not a good start. The pad thai was average at best, not horrible but not great. The red curry had nice flavor we ordered a 3-4 and it was pretty mild. Will we go back. No not even if we were in the area. I am surprised by the high rating here. It is a 3 star AT BEST... Im giving a 2 because IMHO this place is TOTALLY over-rated and the service was pretty mediocre too. I was very let down. edit.. and im sure many of these reviews and photos are by mgmt. there was NO FLOWER or pretty presentation in the slop we were served.
(2)Matt S.
Fresh. That's what Thai food tastes like. Even the worst Thai restaurants seem to understand this. Lemongrass Thai understands it better than most. From the hot and sour soup to the chicken satay to the Pad See-Ew, everything looked, smelled, and tasted like it was made from fresh, quality ingredients. The service was fast and friendly (I was the one of two people having lunch at the time) and at $6.99 for a lunch special, the price was fine by me. Next time it's all about their Panang curry. I'll let you know how that goes.
(5)PJ T.
We've been to this restaurant a few times and enjoyed it, but we were terribly disappointed tonight. Everything we ordered lacked flavor. The spring rolls were bland and the curry lacked spice. The worst was the chicken noodle soup. It had a small amount of egg noodles and I asked the server if I could have more and he said that it would cost $3!!! He said that if I would have ordered the rice noodles, I would have received more. I refused to pay extra, so I basically paid $10 for broth and scallions. I agree with Sarah F. This place is too Americanized and I'm not coming back.
(2)Erik D.
Excellent food and service. Bonus is the place looks and smells new! Impressed! Seafood soup or Tom Yum I do not recommend. My kids loved the sushi.
(5)Dorie B.
I really love this place. We have been coming here for over a year and I am addicted to the Panang. The flavor is amazing and the veggies always taste very fresh. You can choose your level of spicy which is nice for days when I don't think I can handle the heat. It's not the best for kids, they will probably get bored and not like much on the menu. Service can be slow from time to time but overall the food brings things to a 5 star review.
(5)Daphne R.
Ehhh this place is ok. I have had better Thai food. The egg drop soup was a bit bland, and the sauce on the peanut chicken was weird tasting. The service was great though! Lady was nice and attentive. The atmosphere was also nice.
(2)Y G B.
the kee mao, or drunken chicken was a little sweet. not so sweet as to be offensive, but it was close. the saving grace was the multi level spice component. slight to start, and building to thai hot. nice finish. green curry with chicken was outstanding. almost perfect. almost. hot and sour soup was outstanding. perfection for its component parts. mushroom. scallion. tofu. ginger. two moist white-meat chicken morsels. perfection. service efficient, but don't forget to ask for spice level. they didn't ask x 2
(4)Patricia H.
The coworker and I go here sometimes for lunch because it is very close. I like the shrimp meekrob and fresh roll, which is shrimp and krab rolled with random veggies in rice paper. It comes with a peanut butter garlic dipping sauce, which is yummers! I often order the beef pad see-ew, which comes with a soup. A very delicious $8 to spend, if I do say so myself!
(5)Kim O.
Loved this place! Went here on a recommendation from a friend. Kept seeing her pictures all over FB and decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is in a shopping center next to a breakfast spot. We were seated immediately and had our drink orders taken right away. For starters we had the fried spring rolls and freah/summer rolls. Yum! The fried rolls were super hot and and delicious; the summer rolls were amazing and the thai basil in them was superb. Since they did not have a kid's menu, we had my daughter eat off my Mom's plate of chicken teriyaki and they both loved it. Plenty big enough to share. Hubby had the "ultimate pad thai" and loved it, I had the "Pad se yew" (spelling?) and thought it was amazing. My dad got the chicken soup and it was good. We will be back!
(4)Kim A.
Finally! I really feel there just isn't enough really great Thai restaurants in San Antonio. I recently visited Lemongrass Thai. Ironically located in the same space Martha's was (to whom I gave a horrible review) in the Thousand Oaks Shopping Center located off Hwy 218. I was enticed to visit as a challenge from my husband that the Pad Woon Sen was better that Mon's/Spice, so we popped in on a random Tuesday evening. I have to admit, we tend to eat with the blue-hairs around 6pm, but let me clarify, it's not because I'm old, but just because I'm usually starving by that time. That out of the way--when we walked in there was just a few occupied tables, and we were seated at a cute little half booth. The layout of the restaurant looks about the same as it did when Martha's occupied it, but Lemon Grass has really tried to give it a somewhat modern-asian flair. The waitstaff was very attentive--our water would barely be half full and he came to refill it. Now, on to the food. I ordered my usual, the Pad Woon Sen and it was great. The huge serving was more than I could eat, but I kept on trying. I can't say that it was better or worse than Mon's or Spice's, but I would put them on the same level. What a relief to finally find another great place that serves my favorite Thai dish. I have been a repeat customer several more time. You should really stop by and support a local business. And for those of you who like to push your limits of spice level, be careful, the scale is 1-10 and level 2 burns my mouth. My husband can't handle more than a 5. Let me know if you are brave enough to try a level 10!
(4)Sidney H.
Meh. I ordered the calamari and it was 90% fried vegetables. I also ordered some kind of fried rice that obviously wasn't memorable. I don't think I'll be trying anything else.
(2)PAT M.
I give this place only three stars because of portion size. Mingy mingy mingy. Spend a little more on food cost, and increase your repeat business. I'm no glutton. I'm not looking for the big buffet. I just hate it when the cliche about being hungry thirty minutes later comes true. In conjunction with their slightly high prices, the portion size is especially disappointing. The wild curry chicken was very good. I;ll go back, all the food was great. I just want more. Did I mention that I didn't get enough to eat? Update: it turns out that it was a good thing that the portion size was small; damn food gave me a tummyache.
(3)Cindy D.
I was led here by all of the signs on Thousand Oaks announcing the new Thai restaurant. It's located in a strip mall, but don't be turned off. Walking in, the ambiance is a bit too dark for my taste but comfy and inviting. We were greeted and seated promptly. I ordered the nam sod and hubby got the num prik pao with pork. Both dishes were ordered as a medium spicy to be safe. I ended up adding chili sauce to both dishes. Nam sod was a nice mix of veggies to ground pork and hit all of the usual Thai notes of sweet, spicy, salty and sour. I did notice this was a bit more gingery than other places which I actually enjoyed. The num prik pao was also lovely with pork, veggies and toasted cashews in a red chili paste. The brown rice here has a wonderful nutty flavor and is cooked to perfection! We both loved the food at this new establishment as well as the prompt and courteous waitstaff. Can't wait to try their other dishes!
(4)Jerry R.
I don't know much about Thai food but I know what I like. There are the usual favorites here like pad Thai but you owe it to yourself to get the red curry if you are here. It is excellent. The service is great and the prices can't be beat either.
(5)Susana C.
I have been to this restaurant 2 or 3 times. Their fresh ingredients impressed me, which made the food so delicious. It seems like no matter what dishes I order, they are great. The price maybe a little higher than I prefer but it's quite worth it.
(5)Christine C.
this place has been the best thai food restaurant i've been to in San Antonio. My 2 friends who have never had Thai food really enjoyed their drunken chicken and chicken pad thai. Everyone got a thai iced tea and liked that as well. The service is good and they are friendly. Food is a bit on the expensive side though.
(5)Jay F.
First time and Im not a big Thai person. The Thai expert is my girlfriend who had thw green curry, which I tried. I had a a basic chicken and vegetable dish with 5 spicy. Both were very good and reasonably priced.
(4)Paul K.
The scallop dish is to die for. Now that V's is closed, I come here for great Thai food. Good service too!!!
(5)Marc A.
This is a fantastic restaurant. The food is freshly prepared and the service excellent. I have eaten there numerous times and have not been disappointed.
(5)Melanie H.
I don't know why this is rated high. It took forever to take my order. When my food came out, I handed him my soup bowl for the plate to have space, and he plunked it back down on my table...it's still sitting there. I can't get a check to leave. And the worst part -- the pad wunsen had no taste at all. I had to add a lot of salt to compensate for the lack of that amazing fish saucy goodness. And pad wunsen is my all time fave I splurged on today. Boo Lemongrass Thai.

Food was outstanding, not too heavy and very flavorful. Server was a bit ill-mannered. We will go back for the food!

Let me start by saying that I eat a lot of Thai food and I'm kind of a curry snob. This place got great reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the pork spring rolls and they were really great. I also ordered the Penang curry with pork. Unfortunately this place does what a lot of Thai places do, skimp on the coconut milk. I guess they do that because its more expensive than water. It makes the curry very runny and the dish does not have that sweetness to balance the curry. They also put an abundance of frozen green beans in the dish. This also watered down the curry and distracted from the flavor of the dish. So on rating the food I would have to say its average and that's only because the appetizer was above average. If I had to rate the service I would have to say very poor. The server took my order, dropped off the food, and she didn't come back until she brought the check. I would have liked to have my drink refilled and some soy sauce but she was too busy on the phone taking to go orders. So I think 3 stars is being very generous.

Love this place. It's close to our house and they have some of my favorite curry (I stick to the classic red curry with either tofu or seafood- both are great). Spicy but won't burn your mouth. My boyfriend loves the pad thai as well. Friendly people, fast delivery.

Kudos to the best Thai in SA. Outstanding preparation, reminds me of top Thai places in LA. Superb service. Take out OR eat in. Love, love this food. Pad thai was faultless. Caveat: order food with a level 1 of spicy because it can get pretty hot even if you order a level 4. It's s scale of 1-10. Don't miss this great food. It's on our top SA eateries list.

I've been here once for lunch and had the red curry, although it wasn't too incredibly red since I ordered spiciness at a 5. The soup was chicken noodle, but the chicken was a little over-done, but still not too bad. The curry beef was good, but I would order it spicier than a 5 next time. Pretty decent for $7. It was a decent experience. I would go there again.

I went to Lemongrass with my family today for lunch. As an appetizer, we had the Gyoza, which was excellent. Our experience went downhill from there. My padthai was mediocre. Our server was great about refilling drinks but he seemed annoyed when we asked for extra napkins. What made us decide to NEVER go back, however, was that we had a coupon from an Entertainment book. The coupon said "VALID ANYTIME" but they refused to honor it. The server said it was valid for dinner only, and he wouldn't take it.

While the food was fantastic, the service left little to be desired. The Panamg was delicious, sweet with a little kick. The heat scale runs from 1-10, I chose 7 and if that was any indication of their scale, I should probably try about 15-20 next time! If their staff could pick up the pace, be a bit more friendly and attentive, Lemongrass could be a new Thai contender in San Antonio. I will definitely return; let's see if management pays attention to Yelp.

((Update Feb '13) Can I update if I still agree with my previous comments? Here goes... I am updating this place to 5 stars. We eat here about once a month and still love it. And, I think I found my new favorite dish, the Tornado Seafood, Damn it was good.) If you want good Thai food, go here, you will not be disappointed. I am so glad that I found this place, and it is close to home too. Coming from Hawaii, my wife and I are picky about Thai and have a high expectation. We tried a couple other Thai places in the north side of the city. They were OK, but the Lemongrass Thai is the best Thai food we have found in SA. The scale of 1-10 on the heat of the dish is a bit daunting. I love hot food, but I also like to taste my food. So, though an 8 or 9 is HOT, I like a 5 which has a good bite on the tongue while still being able to taste the food. I love the sauce that they serve with the egg rolls. It is so good that I use it as a dip with the shredded carrots that they serve. The pricing here is good with a portion size that is perfect. We always walk out full, but not stuffed. 2 main plates, 2 teas, and an appetizer will run about $35. The artistic presentation of the plates is nice too, this is a nice attention to detail. We have eaten there a half dozen times and have never been disappointed.

Best Thai food ever !!!! I try to go every week or more ! Service is the best ever I love the two guys that I always see working. Red curry is bomb and Thai lemongrass sauce is fantastic too! Recommend this place for Thai lovers. Mmmmmmmm mmmm mmmm. Tempura style cheesecake for dessert!!! Oh and the duck was really good. The egg drop soup, wonton and hot sour are so friggin good. Must try!

lemon grass has tasty food. the desserts are even better. i love the mango with sticky rice. i'll have to admit that their lunch specials is what got me. where else are you going to find thai food for 6.99 in san antonio? so if you're hesitant i say try the lunch hour at least.

My 2nd lunch visit today did not impress. Service was mediocre-to-unfriendly. I had the Pad Thai with seafood. Folks, the fish was *not* fresh ! Had that taste like it was going to spoil soon-- yuck! I didn't complain because the waitstaff already looked in a glum mood. I'll go elsewhere next time...

was taken here for lunch while on a business trip. I was definitely not expecting much and wasn't really hungry, but I was delighted. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice, and restaurant was clean. I had a great time. Lots of choices and great customer service. It was a middle of the week lunch so there were not a lot people there but more than I expected for a strip mall location. definitely reccomend.
